First Bath

He did not cry to much after being born, but certainly did not care for his first bath. Can we say, traumatic!

Practice Pushing!

I ask Britt after a few contractions, how it was going to look when she started pushing. She said, "Something like this!" For the most part she was able to keep a pretty good sense of humor for the whole delivery. Thank you, Epideral!

Blind Contour

Just wanted to show off some of the artwork of Britt's Students. This is a blind contour, the students cannot look down at the paper or pick up the pen. They had to remain focused on the person in front of them... and that is pen! What a good little art teacher and soon to be mom we have!

Tom the Turkey

Well I didn't harvest a turkey this year, but the few times we went out they were fun. All I have to say about not getting a turkey is; 'Thanks, Sis Larson.'

Cougar Kill

Okay, I don't know for sure but there was still flesh on the skull and it was just outside a cave! It was just up a little slot canyon where I saw some cougar tracks in the winter.

Turkey Tracks

While everbody else is looking for turkeys down in the canyon... I found them!!! They are still up on the mountain playing in the snow! Can't wait for my turn... I think that I am going to try and harvest one with my bow. Okay, not the bow that I have now because I don't have one, but I will soon!

No Sheds

I have seen plenty of Elk, but no sheds. I saw two tonight and four in almost the same spot last night. I was tried to hold the dog still while I was focusing in, in the mean time the Elk decided to move.

Hard at Work

Apparently we have a lot of spare time in Vernal. A few weeks back we went and had these hard hats made. They get quite the reaction from people when they are getting off the plane. Brian almost never takes his off. For those familiar with oil field terminology his hat on the back says, 'Company Man' and mine says, 'Worm.' Those are terms for the highest and lowest man on the totem pole, respectively.

Fierce Competition

Well friends and family, there is a fierce competition going on and I am not going to lay down easy! You see at the same time I decided to start Basin Shuttle, two other companies have decided to make a go at taking people to Salt Lake. While I am not afraid of what will happen, I want to hedge my odds as much as possible. Here is where you can help! Before Vernal Shuttle (the comeptition) changed their website, when you did a google search for Vernal or Basin Shuttle, either way my site came up first. Now when you type in Vernal Shuttle, I come up second or not at all. One way to fix this is to get people to link to you. So any of you that have extra space on some side bar on your blog or site, a link would be appreciated. www.basinshuttle.com

Basin Shuttle

Well for those who have not heard about my latest and greatest idea, I am starting a shuttle service from Vernal to Salt Lake and the surrounding areas. In the last two months we have been out here, I have seen a need for people to get to different places in SLC. I found an investor and in the first week of March we be starting a full service shuttle route here in the Basin.

According to my mom, I have always had a little entrepreneurial streak in me, ever since I was peddling log animals as a kid. I would make Bees, Caterpillars, and the like out of branches or logs and nails. If you go to my mom's house she still has a log bee in the front room.

If you are interested in seeing my website, it will be up in about a week. So just visit: BasinShuttle.Com

House Hunting

Well we went house hunting here in Vernal and without much luck we did not find anything resonable that fell in our price range. What we have found out is that we can buy a little lot outside of town and build cheaper than we can buy right now. We have put this house up on our vision board in hopes that we can build a little craftsman inspired home.

Big Game Draw

Well now that my hunter's safety is complete, I can put in for the Big Game drawings here in Utah. This year, I put in for limited entry archery, Elk and general rifle, Deer. I also put in for one of my once in a lifetime hunts for a Mountain Goat. This picture looks about like one that I would like to harvest.

It's a Boy

We deliberated for several days if we should put this photo on the blog. The ultimate decision was that by the time he would be old enough to be embarrassed by such a picture that there would probably be other, more embarrassing photos. In short, we are excited. From the ultrasound, he is doing fine. Britt is still mostly over getting sick. She tends to have some reflux issues at night, but all in all better than a month or so ago. The due date is still June 18th. We will continue to keep you informed as things progress.

NRA

Well, I have caught hunting fever. In addition to my own hunter safety course that I took online, I also took my nephew to his class a few nights this week. On the first night the instructor talked about the importance of the NRA, the Rocky Mounatin Elk Foundation, amongst other clubs. So when I got home, I decided that I wanted to protect my ability to own firearms.

For those of you that use MSN Messenger, we just started logging in under Britt's e-mail address. We are in the process of setting up our webcam as well, so we will be able to keep in better contact with my siblings. If you do not have Britt's e-mail let me know.

Anniversary Cake

We did not have any of our wedding cake left, so our nephews woke up early Sunday Morning and made us a cake. They were afraid that we woudl come up and see it so they frosted it before it cooled, but it was good.

Our Anniversary

Well as of just about an hour ago it became the date of Our One Year Anniversary. Britt is tucked quietly in bed and I am just waiting out my usual case of insomnia, which is what I get every time I take a nap or sleep in past 7 am. Today of which I did both, so who knows what time I will finally go to sleep. In any case, I took this pics a few weeks ago, but I thought it would be a great pic to use today. I have planned a little surprise get-away once we get done with church.

P.S. If it is too blurry to read, I wrote out 'I Love Britt' in the salt residue on our car.

Christmas Dinner

Not sure whose idea it was but we decided to have a 7-course meal on Christmas. Britt's sister provided a huge cut of Prime Rib that was to-die-for. It ended up however only being a 6-course meal. The sorbet for some reason decided that although we placed it outside in the snow with an air temperature of 8 degrees it decided that it did not want to freeze.

Christmas Eve PJ's - Japanese Style

Here are our Japanese, Made in China, Christmas Eve PJ's. As is tradition in the Schlosser Family we get matching pajamas on Christmas Eve. This year my sister Liz picked out the PJ's in Japan. We loved them, but when one of Britt's sister checked the tag to see how 'authentic' they were, we all got a chuckle to see that they were made in China. See American's aren't the only ones!
