Soda Free

Well it has been a week since I was issued the Sub-Three Hour Challenge and I decided that I needed to get off soda to get a little extra help. So far I have been soda free for a week and starting to feel a difference.

Nite Boarding Rocks!!!

Went up to Brighton after work with Nicki, took us awhile to get up there but once we did it was great. We got lots of runs in and by chance were the last run of the nite. There was also a lot of powder left from last nite's snow. It has now been my fourth day of the season and I am getting the hang of it.

New Favorite Candy

Well, I cannot vouch for the taste because it has been so many years since I have had one, but I am excited to go get a ton. First off, they use only the finest Virginia Peanuts. Second, they come from my dad's home state of MN and my dad used to get package of their products for Christmas from Grama Fine. Third, bring two wrappers with you to Brighton and get $10 off nite lift tickets!!! So if any one wants to send me some or at least tell me where to buy them, let me know.

All Around the World

Wow, today was a crazy day!!! It started bright and early with a 7am run with Colby Allen (from work) and one of his friends. After that I went home started some laundry and felt like I should go to the gym. So I went and lifted, came home and did some more chores. Then I was browsing the internet, finding out about the different resorts, when I noticed that Sundance still did not post and opening day. I decided to call their info line and found out that they opened yesterday. Suddenly flashes of me, zooming down the mountain came to mind and in less than 5 minutes the car was packed and within the half hour, I was sitting on the lift; think Sundance isn't a bad deal after all. Then when I got off the mountain, I called my friend Liz which turned into dinner plans. Now it is 10:30 and I am about to hit the sack. Can't believe I packed that all into one day.

Sub Three Challenge

Today at work we were talking marathons, running, times, races, etc, and my boss (JCA), challenged me to run a sub 3 hour marathon. He started with one of those reverse psychology bits, saying that I couldn't do it. So then we finished with the agreement that if I finished a Utah Marathon sub-3 hours he would pay for my registration. So be watching this May in Ogden when I come across the finish line under 2:59!!! It will be the Birthday Present I give to myself.

Race Calender

Ladies & Gentlemen... Actually just those that are interested in road trips, races, and crazy mountain adventures. I am putting together my race calender for 2007. I would like to do 4 ultras and an assortment of other marathons and trail races. I know that many of you run and some of you race. If you know of a good race or at least one by your hometown or would like to pace me for a portion of my longer runs, let me know. As I get dates I will post them on here, so either call or e-mail me if you are intersted in any way. Online Calender

Banff is Coming!!!

...The Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour that is!!! Thanks to my good friend Cami, I can pass on the excitement of Banff to all of you. And with how good it was last year I am planning on visiting more venues. These are not all of the dates, just the ones that I am planning on:

UVSC - Feb 13 & 14 (Tues & Wed)
USU - Feb 16 (Fri)
Snowbasin - Feb 17 (Sat)
U of U - Feb 20 & 21 (Tues & Wed)

For the ones at UVSC & U of U, I will just go up after work. After the one in Logan I will stay in a hotel and then wake up and board all day at Snowbasin. Should be an action packed two weeks!!!

50K Pic

The pics finally came in from the Durango 50K aka 'the worst race ever.' Here is when it still wasn't too bad except for the fact that my leg is bleeding. Although it does add to the picture it; making me look that much tougher and my legs that much more ripped.

See last years pic here.

Pretty Sparse...

Usually people do their closet cleaning in the Spring, but I opted for a Fall Fling and took all those clothes to Plato's Closet. Making 90 bones made it all worth it... makes up for the wild purchase last nite at the ski swap.

Don't tell the bike!!!

Don't tell my bike, but I got a new toy. Went to the Park City Ski Team Swap and picked up this sweet board & bindings along with a solid pair of boots!!! The next plan is to get a Nite pass at Brighton Ski Resort.

Little Nephew

Although he slept the whole flight from the US to Japan, he hates to go to bed!!!

A Whole Lot Easier

Well my life just got a whole lot easier!!! I finally bit the bullet and got internet. It took me awhile to setup my router because of some firmware problems, but now it is all up and running. I have still not found out why my pictures are not posting but I will get that figured out and everything will be great again. I am going to a Ski Swap tomorrow and hope to pick up a ton of Snowboard Equipment for the upcoming season. So check back soon for Holiday Pics and me up on the slopes.

Homemade Yogurt

Not as uniformally creamy like the stuff from the store, but has a richer flavor, less calories, and is TONS cheaper. I tried several times last year to get it right and it never worked. Now I bought this nifty machine that takes the time, worry, and guessing out of the equation. It has been good fun experimenting with different flavors. You should consider coming by to try some!!!

Mooching Wireless

Well...I have been back and forth if I were going to get internet at my new pad and then this weekend found out that some one near by does not have security on their network, so I am just logged into theirs. It is pretty slow, but I really can't complain. Slow internet is better than no internet.

Any who picture messaging is still not posting to my phone, so I am unable to send pics. I have been e-mailing them to myslef, but have not been able to transfer them to my blog; for which many of you have complained. I will try to get better about it, but for now it is what it is.

Worst Race Ever

Well Saturday is being chalked up as my worst race ever. I will spare the name of the course here, as to protect the innocent! Just kidding, most of the problems were just freaks of nature and not necessarily any one person's fault. So after a combination of problems, setbacks, and frustartions this will go down in my history as the worst race ever. I improved my time over last year, but did not break the five hour marker as I had planned. The rest of the trip turned out to be great. I had a great time with the Young's where I stayed and in spite of the rain the 6 hour drive was pleasant.

As for the lack of pictures lately. I keep sending them from my phone but they never make it to the website. I will keep trying and hopefully soon it will work.

Phone & Internet Malfunction

Well guys, I have tried to post several times from my phone and it has not been working. The other problem is that I do not have internet at my apartment yet so I have had trouble getting on to edit this page. I have taken some cool pics that I will post soon. Like my homemade yogurt, the Marriot Center during the Priesthood Session, and some pics of me out and about.

As for the horizon, well the immediate future... I have a race this weekend in Durango, CO I am pretty stoked about it. Should be fun and hopefully I will be fast.

Fun at 40

We are actually stopped here, but about ten minutes before we were almost in a wreck going 40MPH. My cousin Abby while rolling 40MPH said, "Hey, look at all this traffic." Then being the fun person she is she kept singing a song, until we were about to rear end the car in front of us. Luckily for us, she has good brakes and they pull forward a little.

Slightly Obsessed

Passed by the Stadium on our way back from the Temple in Oakdale after nearly rearending a VW Jetta we saw this tricked out ride. Now of to the MOA!!! It's like my Dad's favorite place in the World or at least that is the story around here!!!

Sushi Sunday

Abby's first Sushi experience!!! After disecting it with her chop sticks she decided that she would make it finger food. Our props to Oragami Sushi in the Ridgedale Mall.

Thank Heaven for Wireless Sync

My boss cleared my phone this morning loading some new firmware on my phone. I had not Synced it in awhile on my computer and so tons of phone numbers and e-mails were gone. Then come to find out that every fifteen minutes my phone synces with a Verizon server to save my info!!! How cool is that?!?!?!

Long Time No See

I have had very limited access to the internet the last few weeks, so it has been hard to add & edit this thing. I broke down and talked to the landlord today about getting it. It has been crazy...now for example, it is 3:45am and I am sitting here at working doing some research on the internet. Tomorrow is the big day when I have to tell Sound Concepts my intentions concerning the promotion they offered me. I am just looking at a little bit of info for the arsenal.

Wish me luck!!!

Old Venice

Yum!!! Had Dinner at this Family restaurant just down the way from Manhattan Beach Pier. The food was good but super slow, so we ended up missing the last free shuttle and had to pay for a cab back to the hotel.

Nite Out on the Town

The Starting Line-Up

Well tonite at the game I have been selected to pitch!!! I do not feel to crazy about the idea; I have seen how they treat the other pitchers!!! If I for some reason show-up missing here in the next day or two; I'll be on the other side, with all the Sound Concept's Pitchers that came before me.

The Move

I moved houses on Sunday. Went about 4 Blocks East of where I was this Summer. I am amazed everytime I move, how much stuff I have acquired. Funny thing is that when I moved out here I brought it all in less than one car load. Now I have a cargo box on my roof rack and I still can't carry it all at one time. I am in serious need of downsizing if I ever plan to move anywhere far.

Well because of all the problems with my bike lately I have been running more than ever before. Not to mention the fact that I have finished two ultras so far this year and would like to do two more by the end of the year. So here are the stats and if I wasn't already wasting enough time... TX... 44oz Small

I thought I asked for a small!!!

As for the game, it was rocking. It was a No-Hitter for the A's pitcher until the 8th Inning. My co-workers did not see it as that exciting, but it would have been the first no-hitter since 2002 in the American League. Mac (the boss) was tired so we left right at the start of the 9th so we wouldn't catch traffic. We sat with a pretty colorful crowd, it was great!!! Sorry Rangers!!!

4th Inning @ Ameriquest Stadium

Here we are watching the Rangers getting spanked by the A's, Scoreless and Hitless in the Third.

Yee Haw...

Actually, can I even say that while wearing a tie??? This is a pic at our booth for the NSP Expo at the Gaylord Texan. The whole event has a Western Cowboy theme. My boss scored this hat. He was suppossed to get one for everyone...we shall see. I would be way stoked to get one; this one seems to fit me really well. What do the ladies think???

Utterly Crazy!!!

Can you believe this... it's actually a video game!!! I guess my real question is who came up with it??? Anyway it was a ton of fun... for just $10 you could play unimited for 5 hours.

Thursday, August 24, 2006

Leaving the Gaylord

Well if the high prices on Coke, Internet Access and Food wasn't enough we got kicked out of our rooms. The hotel was booked over capacity and we got asked to leave...forced I guess you should say!!! Needless to say we got two rooms much more our style at the Ameri Suites down the street. Now we aren't paying out the noes for breakfast because it is free and we can walk to a ton of local and chain restaraunts.

The Excitement Never Ends!!!

Everyone is safe, but we got rearended leaving the Airport!!! Sad thing is, that it was one on a list of several 'incidents' in the van on Tuesday. For those that work at the SC ask Paul about the map & the toll booth!!! As for when we finally showed up the Gaylord Texan is massive. It is a destination hotel and they show it; charging $3.75 for a Coke and I didn't even get it spiked with anything!!! I did find the in though, if you sneak into the employee hallways there are vending machines with the sodas and treats at the real prices.

Sunday, August 20, 2006

3:30 AM @ the Airport

After a major delay in Vegas and after being up & working for 23hrs, we're finally home...well alomst!!!

Meat Thrower

No one was watching this meat slicer so it was throwing every other slice behind the counter onto the floor and nobody seemed to care. They were out of three meats, both soups, and their sodas were all warm. Went to the next terminal where their oven broke, and instead of doing anything the employees were watching a sub turn black... Go Quiznos!!! I won't talk about the adjoining bar and the adjacent bathroom.

On the Docket

If I had not already pointed out how crazy I was by my race this weekend, then this schedule should prove just how nuts I am. You see I have a racing bug and the upcoming months are great for racing out here in the West. Even though none of these plans are definite I mention them here to get any possible groupies that might want to participate, spilt gas, or just tag-a-long. The ones in bold I will most likely do or already have some possible groupies swaying the decision. Since alot depends on funds, timing, and or planning I have put cutoff dates for my decision. Also if any one that reads this knows of a race that is in near where they want to go, bring it to my attention and we may just have another option.

It's a Small World After All...

It's a Small, Small World. Ran into a Elder here in VA. Recognized his last name and after he said where he was from I thought that I knew some one from there. Found out that I had some History Classes with his Sister and that we knew some of the same people. He just got done serving in my parents Ward. Probablly won't see him again, but it is interesting how small it is.

No Picture Messaging...

Not sure why they have not come through, but all the pictures I have sent to my site since I have been in VA have failed to post. So I will place all the text and put 'Pic Soon' for the entries that have fotos. This has been my longest trip in awhile but the time still seems to fly.

Waiting, waiting, waiting... Just sitting here in the plane. I was going to suprise my family but in the end I had to call for a ride. The flight was delayed several times so we ended up getting in about 2 hours late; making it some time after 1:30AM. Long Day!!!
